Jim has been the Executive Director of Greater Waukesha Literacy since 2014. Prior to joining their team, he was community volunteer for the organization for nearly six years as a program volunteer, event emcee, special event participant, and fundraising developer. Among his proudest achievements has been seeing GWL win the 2016 Outstanding Workplace Literacy Program Award from Wisconsin Literacy. He divides his time between two half-time E.D. positions, as he is also the founding director of the City of Waukesha Chamber of Commerce.
Jim is a West Virginia University alumnus (B.A. English). His professional career background is centered on more than 20 years in nonprofit leadership and administration. For ten years, he was a CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) and served on the Subject Matter Expert Corps (SMEC) tasked with writing the exam questions for the international credential.
