Chelsy Miller

Chelsy Miller is a dedicated educator with 15 years of experience spanning K-12 and adult education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies and a Master of Arts in Communication with an emphasis on Education, both from Grand Canyon University. She currently teaches RLA-3, Reading and Language Arts, parenting, and life skills courses at Jackson Correctional Institution.

Chelsy strives to bring a practical, real-world approach to literacy instruction that empowers learners to apply their skills in daily life. Her teaching philosophy centers on making literacy accessible, relevant, and transformative, whether she is working with young students building foundational reading skills or adults seeking to strengthen their communication and critical thinking abilities.

Throughout her career, Chelsy has witnessed firsthand how literacy changes lives by opening doors to employment, family engagement, and civic participation. Her passion for teaching real-life content stems from her belief that education should equip people with tools they can use immediately, from reading a lease agreement to helping their children with homework to advocating for themselves in healthcare settings.

She enjoys integrating literacy across multiple areas, recognizing that strong communication skills are essential for parenting, navigating social services, and building stable, fulfilling lives. Her work with diverse populations has deepened her commitment to equity and access in literacy education.
