Celebration of Literacy
Each of us has our own story about what literacy means. Stories connect us.
In honor of Wisconsin Literacy’s 35 years, we will pay tribute to these personal stories in our Celebration of Literacy luncheon at the Lake Windsor Country Club on April 29, 2020.
This year’s luncheon will honor adult learners, volunteers and member agencies with outstanding literacy achievements. As a special highlight, guests will participate in an innovative dyslexia simulation experience led by the Children’s Dyslexia Center-Madison.
We will hear from Shawn Robinson, PhD, who learned to read at 18 after being diagnosed with Dyslexia. Dr. Robinson wrote a children’s book called, Dr. Dyslexia Dude, as a way to encourage other children who struggle with reading that they too can overcome the challenges.
