Celebration of Literacy
Be a Literacy Superhero
Each of us has our own story about what literacy means to us.
At this year’s Celebration of Literacy at the Lake Windsor Country Club on April 29, 2020, you will hear Shawn Robinson, PhD’s story. He learned to read at 18 after being diagnosed with Dyslexia and wrote a comic book called Dr. Dyslexia Dude to encourage children who struggle with reading that they too can overcome the challenges.
In honor of Wisconsin Literacy’s 35 years, we will pay tribute to the literacy superheroes among us who have faced their own challenges and emerged stronger at the Celebration of Literacy luncheon.
You will hear the stories of adult learners, volunteers, and member agencies with outstanding literacy achievements.
As a special highlight, guests will participate in an innovative dyslexia simulation experience led by the Children’s Dyslexia Center-Madison.
