In this presentation, attendees will reflect on current intake processes and how they impact English learners with beginning levels of literacy. We will consider various strategies to make intake processes more inclusive for all students, so that all students feel welcomed from the beginning. Attendees will consider new ideas about how to approach outreach, registration, assessment, matching students with tutors, class placement, and more.
