5-Minute Reviews for Reading and Language Arts
Carrie Melin, Adult Basis Education Instructor at Jackson Correctional Institution
Do your students have trouble with where to put an apostrophe? Do they struggle with distinguishing between they’re, there, and their? Do you sometimes have a few minutes at the end of a class period and want to find a useful way to spend the time? These Reading and Language Arts activities are meant to provide adult learners with multiple opportunities for review and practice after the skills have already been taught. The goal is to help students become confident when using basic rules for spelling, punctuation, and capitalization in their writing. This presentation is geared to ELL and level 1-2 Reading and Language Arts students but may also benefit some RLA level 3 and 4 students.
