Wisconsin Public Radio to Feature Literacy Series
Make sure to tune in to the Wisconsin Public Radio station near you to listen to their 5-day Literacy series! Wisconsin Literacy and five of our member agencies (each featuring a student's story) will be included. The Wisconsin Life series will air February 15 - 19 on Morning Edition at 6:30 and 8:30AM as well as at 4:15PM on Central Time. Also, additional interviews on the many facets of literacy will air following the stories on the afternoon Central Time show.

The Morning Edition shows of Wisconsin Life will air at 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on the NPR News and Classical Music network.

The Central Time show will air on the Ideas Network at 4:15 p.m.

Monday-Journey House in Milwaukee
Maria immigrated from Mexico and learned English and now works at the library in Milwaukee helping other Spanish speakers.

Wednesday-Winnebago County Literacy Council
Ruth has a learning disability and is working on reading with her tutor Bonnie. She hopes to earn her GED.

Thursday-International Learning Center at Neighborhood House
Miss Elizabeth came to Milwaukee from Liberia were she had never gone to school. She has now learned to read, write, and speak English.

Friday-Literacy Network in Madison
Renee and Rick are lifelong friends, and with Rick's help, she was able to gain the computer skills needed to land a job.
