Meet "Valerie"
"Valerie" is a full time mother who does not read in her native language of Spanish came to the Literacy Council of Green County. She wants to be able to help her children with their homework, which is in English. States she will be a 'better' Mother when she learns to read, write and speak in English. We've encouraged her children to speak English to her for a few hours a day during the Summer. Through a translator, she said, " I love this idea." Her children were happy to be asked to 'help' their Mother.
