Why are we choosing in person?
The health and safety of our Summit attendees is paramount. Wisconsin Health Literacy has been closely monitoring COVID-19 guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control and local public health agencies. All considered, we strongly believe the goals of our summit could not be achieved via a virtual option. With careful consideration and following existing public health guidelines, we have decided to move forward with a fully in-person summit. We will be requiring vaccination of all attendees. We will also follow Dane County’s COVID-19 requirements, which may include a mask mandate at the summit.
Summit goals:
- The meeting will enable unique learning and networking opportunities that build upon the assets of various perspectives and continue to enhance the health literacy community.
- Engage speakers and participants to address new health literacy research and projects with respect to implementation, evaluation, and measurement in the changing environment.
- Integrate evidence-based health literacy techniques attendees can immediately use in their daily work.
- Understand challenges people face in navigating and using health insurance and health care; Demonstrate how to help patients and clients overcome these challenges.
- Identify health literacy strategies and practices that enhance health equity.
